Nickelodeon working on a movie based on a video game franchise

Nintendo Life is assuming pretty heavily that it’s Nintendo despite them not saying it. I guess there aren’t a ton of 30 year old game characters, tho.

We have a project now that we’re doing that needs to go unnamed, based on one of the most world famous video games of the last 30 years, that we’ve had in our shop for twelve years without being able to get it started. But there were great characters and a great story, and eventually we got it going.

Nintendo is planning on releasing 2-3 mobile games a year according to Kimishima

We know of some of Nintendo’s mobile plans including Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem, but not about how much NIntendo hopes to put out per year. Kimishima states that they’re thinking about releasing around 2 to 3 titles per year now.

Unreal Engine 4 Switch details

Looking at them, I can tell a few things already:

– The Switch seems to be using the full blown UE4 deferred renderer path, not the “mobile” renderer
– UE4 defaults to use “faster FXAA” in handheld and “FXAA” in console mode.

Anyway, the SwitchConsole settings are a notch lower than the UE4 defaults used on PC, PS4 and XB1. They probably serve as a good starting point to get a PS4/XB1 UE4 game to run acceptably on the Switch.
