MCV backs EuroGamer’s NX report; Claims Zelda, Mario, and Pokemon games for year 1

MCV’s report was released today adding to the Nintendo NX rumor mill. Some new details they had to share is that Nintendo was working hard to get Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a brand new Super Mario game, and a new Pokemon title out within the first 6 months (I’m going to bet within the first 7 months).

Miyamoto had previously teased a Mario game for next year’s e3 and Breath of the Wild was promised for NX making that report sound pretty likely, though I’m not sure about a new Pokemon game being ready by November of next year unless it’s not NX exclusive.

MCV also claims that Nintendo has been busy securing a 3rd party line up with support from Activision, Warner Bros, SEGA, Ubisoft, and Square Enix seemingly being locked down.

An executive told MCV:

“It’s a nice bit of kit, a bit of a novelty, but a good one. It won’t appeal to PS4 fans. Nintendo seems set on trying to upgrade smartphone gamers. That’s going to be a big job for the marketing department.”

I wrote an article rounding up rumors and analyzing them. In there I said to expect the publishers mentioned above to support the NX as well as potentially having Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon in the first year. Make sure to check it out.
